Witham Dolphins Division 2 Champions 2013
On Saturday 18th May, the forth and final Gala of the 2013 ESL was hosted by ourselves at Harlow.
The league table closed as follows:
- 1st Witham Dolphin - 623 swim points (15 league points)
- 2nd Waltham Forest - 564 swim points (13 league points)
- 3rd Enfield - 503 swim points (13 league points)
- 4th Leyton - 494 swim points (8 league points)
- 5th Clacton - 394 swim points (7 league points)
Basildon 50m pool June 2013
We have booked another coaching session at the 50m pool in Basildon on Saturday 1 June from 6 - 8pm at the cost of £6 per swimmer.
If you would like your child to go please add their name to the poster on the Bramston notice board and the coaches will pick the squad in the next couple of weeks.

Winter Championships December 2012
Full results from the 2012 Winter Championships can be found here. The girls and boys ‘Skins’ event were held at the end of the 100m Dolphins championships on Saturday 8 December.The top five boys and the top five girls from the earlier 100m freestyle event battled it out for the Shepherd and Baker trophies (not to mention tokens for the swim shop).
This year the five boys were: Cameron Brown, Josh Fowles, Josh Bibby, Callum Marley and Josh Downes.
Josh Downes and Callum went out in the first 2 rounds leaving the 2 Joshs and Cameron to battle out for places in the final. Josh Bibby narrowly missed out leaving Josh Fowles and Cameron to contest the final. Somewhat against the form book Cameron, who qualified with the second slowest time of the competitors came through to win.
The girls’ event was contested between Connie Slater, Annie Fynn, Lauren Colton Emily Easton and Micky Gore. This event went with form until the semi-final where Emily just got ahead of Lauren to contest the final with Micky. This also went to form with Micky taking the skins title for the third time in a row.

Thank you to everybody who came along to a packed South Woodham Ferrers Pool to witness our 8th success in this event in its 10 year history.The A Team was obviously the stronger of our two teams, but we’d organised it that way to give us the best possible chance of retaining the trophy. We certainly weren’t disappointed, with no less than 23 first places and twenty 2nd places, from the 49 races... the number of PBs is still being worked out but we know there were quite a few. A fantastic result by any measure.
Our B Team had a number of swimmers who were competing as a Dolphin for the first time and a number who had only swum in 1 or 2 events before. Although there were a few nerves, there was definitely no disappointment with everyone swimming exceptionally well and actually beating other established teams on no less than 18 occasions, including our own A Team in 3 races !!
They also managed to go the whole evening without a disqualification – something the A team couldn’t do ! That’s absolutely brilliant !

Witham Dolphins’ Hannah Ueckermann struck gold in the recent British Gas Masters National Championships held in Sheffield. She stormed to victory in the 200m Breast Stroke, recording one the top ten fastest times in the world (for her age group).As well as winning the 200m Breaststroke Hannah also took silver in the 100m Breaststroke and in the 800m Freestyle. To round things off she took bronze in her fourth event in a tightly fought race for the 200m Backstroke where the three medallists were covered by just 1 second.
Over the same weekend two other Dolphins were in action at the East Region ASA Youth Championships at Basildon sporting village. Lauren Baker took part in 6 events making the final in two of those events while Mikeala Gore contested 2 events in her debut at regional level.
