Q. Can I pay for ASA and Club Membership and first month's fees in one cheque?
A. Yes, please make cheques out payable to: Witham Dolphins Swimming Club (or WDSC)

Q. Who do I make my cheque out to?
A. Please make any payments by cheque to Witham Dolphins Swimming Club (or WDSC). However, regular subscriptions are actively encouraged by way of Standing Order / Bill Payment. This helps in the efficient administration of the club subscription activity.

Q. From whom can I get a "standing order" form and once completed, do I give it to my bank?
A. Standing Order forms are available from the Club Treasurer (treasurer@witham-dolphins.org.uk) or the Memberships Secretary. Once completed please send directly to your bank.

Q. When do swimmers move between squads and what & when are the time trials?
A. The coaches decide the movement of swimmers between squads and lanes within squads based on performance, approach and commitment during training and time trials held during the year.

Q. What is an "Open"?
A. An "Open" is a Open Invitation Meeting. A competition in which you can enter, as an individual through the club. Entry is not limited to members of any one club. Some "Opens" have a time entry criteria, others do not. If entered, our "Open Secretary" provides the Personal Best (PB) information to the event organisers who will grade the heats based on entry time submitted - It's good fun and invaluable experience!

Q. How do I register my child's (or my own) interest to compete in an open meet?
A. Information and entry forms for Club selected competitions are put on the WDSC Club Notice Board at Bramston Swimming Pool. It is the child/parents responsibility to look for these forms and indicate on them their intention to swim to the organiser (name and event number usually on form) by the appropriate submission date.

Q. What is the difference between "Designated and Non-Designated Opens"?
A. A Designated Open Meet is one that is designated by the District so that times achieved may be used to qualify for the National Age Group Championships held in August, at the end of the season.

Q. What is HDW? "Heat Declared Winners"
A. This means that awards are made to the fastest swimmers without them having to swim in a final.

Q. When I get to an Open Meet, whom do I give my entry card to?
A. Boxes to post your card(s) will be provided by the event organisers on your arrival. Please ensure that the cards are posted in the boxes before the meet starts, as late posting may prevent participation in the event.

Q. I hear other swimmers refer to "PB's", what is this?
A. Personal Bests (PB's) are the swimmers' best times personally achieved at different strokes and distance.

Q. Where can I find the Club Records?
A. A copy of the current records by stroke and by distance are found on this web site.

Q. Where do we purchase the equipment that is required?
A. The club shop is open every 1st & 3rd Sunday from 5.30pm - 7.00pm.
