About Witham Dolphins Swimming Club

We have a first class and dedicated coaching team with depth, breadth skill and  experience. You just have to look at our club records area of this website to put some perspective on this.

The club takes great pride in its competitive success and enters a variety of swimming leagues and galas. We also have members competing at County, District and National level. These competitions not only provide an opportunity for swimmers but also for the whole family to be involved (from being spectators to those who get involved with the organisation and running of these events - volunteers are always welcome - no previous experience necessary!)

The WDSC Committee is made up of volunteers and is dedicated to providing our members with the club they deserve. I know that they would all welcome the chance to meet with you or talk to you in more detail about the club and it's activities. If you have just joined, please do take the opportunity to introduce yourself to a committee member and one or more of the coaches or if you are interested in joining then come along on a Sunday evening at 5pm to join in.

Our most famous Dolphin, James Gibson MBE, was recognised in the New Years Honours List 2003 and still holds some of the club records. James has gone onto achieve many records at European, Commonwealth and British levels with medal positions in his main discipline of Breastroke;

  • 2006 Commonwealth Games: SILVER 100m

  • 2003 World Championships: GOLD 50m, BRONZE 100m

  • 2002 Commonwealth Games: GOLD 50m, BRONZE 100m

  • 2001 European Championships: SILVER 100m SILVER 4x100m medley relay
