Mini League & Florida Coaches Trophy Gala

MINI LEAGUE - In the first round of this years Essex Mini League Gala competition recently held at Colchester which is aimed at giving developing swimmers there first chance of completing in competition Witham Dolphins gave debut swims to Evie Williams, Abigail Price, Grace Hellier, Oakley Reed, Steven Beasley and Owen White who all performed very well in their events. First places were obtained by Lauren Baker, Gemma Wass, Matt Bilbey, Craig Campon, Matt Stoker and Katie Stratton. Michael Harrison and Joseph Hellier both achieved two personal best times and Jordan Brice and Megan Florey also gained new personal best times. Team Manager, Sue Shaw, was delighted with the performance of the team who came a creditable 4th place as it gave many of the club swimmers a chance to compete in a team gala. The overall results were 1st Romford 174 points, 2nd Colchester 152 points, 3rd Basildon 129 points, 4th Witham 127 points, 5th Havering 88 points

FLORIDA COACHES TROPHY GALA - Last Saturday (10th February) saw Witham Dolphins invited to take part in the Florida Coaches Shield Gala at Halstead, a new event for the club, but know stranger to the Halstead pool! Many of our top swimmers were unable to take part due to half term commitments, but gutsy performances were achieved by a number of swimmers. First places were achieved by Katie Stratton, Matt Stoker, Craig Campon, Lauren Baker, Matt Bilbey and Gemma Wass. Michael Harrsion and Joseph Hellier again both gained two personal best times with Megan Florey and Jordan Brice also doing the same. Head Coach Paul Robbins was impressed by the club's swimmers who had been asked to swim up an age group and is delighted with the way the clubs swimmer continue to improve. Overall result 1st Halstead ' A'  192 points, 2nd Deben 120 points, Joint 3rd Witham and Halstead 'B' 110 points, 5th Dunmow 73 points
