Dolphins Success - Lowestoft Open

Monday 30th August 2004

On Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 August 2004 four swimmers from Witham Dolphins S.C. took part in The Great Eastern Open Meet 2004 at the Waveney Sports & Leisure Pool, Lowestoft.

This well-run event attracted swimmers from as far apart as London, Bradford, Derby, and Sussex, as well as local East Anglian teams.

David Blackburn-Knowles swam in the boys 10 Years 50 metre Freestyle event, and his brother Alex swam in the boys 12 Years 50 metre Backstroke and 50 metre Freestyle. They both gained new personal best's with Alex knocking and incredible 6 seconds of his 50m backstroke, and 2 seconds off his front crawl, and his brother knocking off 2 seconds off his front crawl. This continued with invaluable experience of attending.

Sarah Digby competed in the Girls 10 year 50 metre Freestyle and in the Girls 10 year 50 metre Breastroke in which she qualified for the final and finished 3rd. 

Nicola Digby competed in the Girls 14 year 100 metre Freestyle and in the Girls 14 year 100 metre Breastroke in which she qualified for the final and finished 5th.
