An excellent performance from Witham Dolphins Abby Colton saw her win take a first and second place at the recent Canvey Island Open gala. Abby won the 200m Breaststroke and gained a silver in the 400m Individual Medley. In her third event of the gala, the 200 Freestyle she gained a creditable 6th place.Micky Gore was again on top form winning the 50m Breaststroke while setting yet another personal best, and a qualifying time for the regional championships.
Another great performance was produced by 10 year old Annie Fynn who managed to gain second place in the 50m Breaststroke (10yr age group). Rebecca King also managed a very creditable performance in the 200, Butterfly coming in fourth.
Essex Senior Championships 25th Nov 2011
Witham Dolphins’ Lauren Baker grabbed a bronze in the recent Senior Essex Swimming Championships. This was a return to form for the Maldon swimmer who has been out of swimming for much of the past 12 months due to illness.The third place in the 100m breaststroke capped a good weekend for Lauren who narrowly missed a second medal in the 50m breaststroke with a fourth and finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke.
Three other swimmers were also competing in the Essex Championships over the weekend with Lauren Flight competing in 5 events and Abby and Lauren Colton making their debut and recording new personal bests in the 800m freestyle.
