What a great night... and a fantastic result

3^rd	Harwich	156
4^th	First Strokes	137
5^th	Witham Dolphins B Team

And all witnessed by our very own hero, James Gibson himself.

Yes James was in the UK for a short while and took time out of his busy schedule to spend the evening with us at a rather warm South Woodham Ferrers pool, accompanied by his parents Margaret and John... regular supporters of this event.

The A Team was obviously the stronger of our two teams, but we’d organised it that way to give us the best possible chance of retaining the trophy we have now won 5 times in the Gala’s 7 year history. We certainly weren’t disappointed with no less than 23 first places and seventeen 2nd places... and a fantastic number of PBs. A brilliant result by any measure.

Our B Team had many swimmers who were competing as a Dolphin for the first time and a number who have only swum in 1 or 2 events so far. Again there was no disappointment with everyone swimming really well and actually beating other established teams in a number of races on the night Absolutely amazing !

Summer BBQ and Presentation Evening - Saturday 18^th July

A great evening with lots of fun and games for everyone. The football and rounders were a particular success and showed that dads never loose their competitive spirit however old they get!!. See the News page for pictures from the presentations.

ASA East Regional Championships - 2009

Witham Dolphins was represented by 3 of our A* swimmers at last weekend's ASA East Regional Youth Championships 2009, held at UEA Pool Norwich. Our trio of Lauren Baker, Lauren Flight and Jenny Stott had each qualified for 3 events. All swam to a high standard against an impressive field - Jenny making 2 finals, finishing 3rd in the 100m breast final and 7th in the 50m breast final.
